The Horasis-Nigeria Economic Development Project (HNEDP) was conceived as a platform to support economic development initiatives of the Government of Nigeria by leveraging the vast human and financial resources present within the Global Horasis fold.

 

Horasis is a world-leading think tank that brings together heads of Government, Global Business Leaders, Nobel laureates, and leaders of the global academia to brainstorm and provide solutions to critical issues affecting the world.

 

Endorsed by the Government of Nigeria after a virtual meeting held on the 30th of October 2020 hosted by the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), the council would provide advisory and consultative support to the federal and state governments starting with the President Buhari led administration.

An official memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Horasis-Nigeria Project and the Federal Government of Nigeria after this meeting with President Buhari

The Horasis-Nigeria Project was founded by Dr. Noel Akpata. It is chaired by Nigeria's former Minister of National Planning, Dr. Shamsudeen Usman and Chairman of Horasis, Dr. Frank Jurgen Richter.

The inaugural meeting with the President of Nigeria had in attendance Nigeria's Ministers of Finance, Trade, and Investment, Foreign affairs, Information and Agriculture. Also in attendance was the Chief of staff to the President, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, and several captains of industry.
